**IMPORTANT** bewitchingbritain returns to enchantedengland**
I am changing the blog name back to its original enchantedengland. If you wish to know why, you can Read More. Also I’ve updated the About Me page; and for any dear, kind, lovely soul interested in my trip to England I have a sort of journal blog at amarauderinrye where I’ll be posting about Rye and the dream adventure of my entire life trip. It has some lovely images of Rye, Sussex, and surrounding environs!
- I never should have changed it in the first place. A very few people complained that I was ignoring Scotland and Wales or insinuating they aren’t different countries; and I did not want to offend anyone’s cultural identity. I have since learned that certain people will be offended no matter what you say or do, because they enjoy being offended.
2. This blog is and has always been mostly about England.
3. I have no native Scottish followers anyway. They do not want to be bewitchingly British; they are Scottish and like a Scotland blog, especially with the current independence issue. (Which I support) The ex-pat Scots are different; maybe because it was okay to be British when they were growing up in Glasgow. I hope they do not desert me, because I still plan on posting Scotland and Wales; due to their geographical and historical ties with England.
4. Since the Scottish wish to be independent, that leaves England and Wales and there is no one word to encompass the two that is widely known. In fact there is no word at all that I know of, unless it’s Wanglend which I just made up. And nobody wants to follow a blog called wonderfulwanglend.
5. Every day of every week I get at least a dozen messages berating me for saying there are three countries in Britain and I CAN’T TAKE IT ANY MORE. I should just delete them; but I hate to think of anyone going about their life imagining Scotland isn’t a country, or that the United Kingdom and Britain are the same thing. So I always write them back very politely; and then they write me back and tell me to fuck off.
6. I like the word enchanted better than the word bewitching.
7. This whole business started when I fell in love with Rye. Which is in England.
8. I have almost 7,000 followers and I am not so worried about losing some as I was before. It just means the ones you have left are THE BEST ONES.
9. I am going to England, so I am feeling patriotic about England; although I know that isn’t the right word when you aren’t a citizen but that’s the only way I can describe it.
10. I can use the word Anglophile with impunity.
Having said all this I hope it works!! I saved that url on purpose but I’m not **cough** EXACTLY sure what the password is.
