The fashionable Bond Street, Europe’s most expensive retail location, which runs between Oxford Street and Piccadilly in London. The southern section (pictured above) is known as Old Bond Street.
Bond Street is mentioned in Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility, VirginiaWoolf’s Mrs Dalloway, and Suzanna Clarke’sJonathan Strange and Mr Norrell- which you simply MUST read, not that you asked. Bond Street also features the interesting statue “Allies”, a bronze representation of Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt engaging in convivial chat on a park bench. I have the hotel in London reserved, and a cottage in East Dean **great excitement ensues** Hopefully I will stay out of trouble this time, but I kinda doubt it.
